Energy efficiency at home

There are many ways you can lower your energy use at home, reducing your bills and your impact on the environment. These could include changes to your lighting and appliances, installing solar panels or even buying an electric car.

Around 40% of energy in our region is used in the home. You could make a real difference in the fight against climate change by being more energy efficient or by installing low carbon technologies such as solar panels.

Below are some simple steps you can take to help reduce your energy bills.

Use a bowl to wash up rather than a running tap and save £25 a year in energy bills.

Turn it down

Turning your heating down by just 1°C can save you as much as £75 per year.
