Inspiring the next generation of engineers and employees
We are committed to supporting Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathamatics (STEM) subjects to create an industry pipeline. Our role is to therefore:
- Support our Bright Sparks programme which delivers vital KS2 electricity and safety curriculum lessons to over 4,000 pupils per year including science festivals across the region. Learn more about our Bright Sparks programme here.
- Enhance existing links with secondary schools, colleagues and universities to create a recruitment pipeline.
- We will encourage gender diversity and leadership in STEM subjects.
Supporting colleague-led community engagement
We are passionate about our colleagues getting involved in our local communities and volunteering. We will continue to provide opportunities and support to drive community-led fundraising within our company and communities.
Responding to Consumer Vulnerability
We aim to ensure that our services are available and accessible to all our customers, regardless of their personal circumstances. We are working with our partners to support fuel poverty and improve energy efficiency to those who need extra support. We manage a Priority Services Register, for customers who may need additional support during a power cut and work with our stakeholders to report our activities annually to our regulator, Ofgem through the Stakeholder Engagement and Consumer Vulnerability Report. We are committed to ensuring that our network keeps ahead of the regions needs and increased demands by leading the Energy Groups in a low carbon future.
